Set Filter Settings - Data

Data Source

Select the data source that the filter should be applied to.

Field

Select the data source field used to define the dynamic filter.

Operator

Select the operator used to define the dynamic filter.

Choose from:

oEqual

oWildcard

oLess

oLess or Equal

oGreater

oGreater or Equal

oNot Equal

Value

Text or Number

Selection of this radio button enables you to enter a static text or numeric value to be used when the Set Field command runs.  

If the value you want to use for the field will not be dynamic (based on app input or other options), it is appropriate to enter the text here.

Value of a Field

Selection of this radio button enables you to select a field from your app from which the value can be pulled.

To select the desired field, click the Select button, then navigate to the field containing the desired value. Once a selection has been made, the value will be shown in the read-only text box to the left of the Select button.

Special

Selection of this radio button lets you choose from a predefined list of app meta data that is universally available in apps to act as the field value. This includes special values such as Instance Name, Instance ID, URL, Current Date, etc.

Formula

Select this radio button then click Compose to provide a condition or formula as the field value. Formulas can use field values, dates, button states, or other special values.

Filter

Override previous filter

By default, each filter that you apply remains in effect when subsequent filters are applied. In other words, the filters are cumulative. However, you may want a new filter to clear all other existing drill-down filters before performing its own. In this case, you would check the Override previous filter box.

The summary section includes the option to override an automatically generated summary with your own comments.

Details

Auto-summary

This option is selected by default, the system will automatically generate a summary that is show in the lower half of the object based on selections made.

Un-check this box if you want to add your own text instead.
