Define the purpose of your app.
Understanding the purpose of your app is the critical first step before you start building it. Once you have defined and understood the purpose, you can add specific details to your plan.
Understand the workflow steps.
Business processes typically follow steps from start to finish. These steps equate to the workflow stages when you are building your app.
Who are the app users?
Several different people or teams will interact with your app. Identify the roles in your process and which individuals will occupy those roles on an instance-by-instance basis. Some roles will be taken by different individuals for each instance, some by the same person, and some by a team of people.
Who does what and when?
With the steps and roles defined, your next task is determining who does what at each step. What information do they need to provide, and what tasks do they need to complete before the step ends? This information will help you keep the correct app elements together and manage access rights to each element.
Mobile devices.
Will the app be used on mobile devices such as phones and tablets?
