PerfectApps recommends that you configure your database server with RAID 1 + 0. This offers the best protection against disk loss while maintaining peak performance. There may be better or preferred configurations depending on your needs, but RAID 1 + 0 is a good standard configuration to start with.
If you do not want to use RAID 1 + 0, then we suggest another RAID level, such as RAID 1.
As with any database, ensure you have ample spare capacity. Estimate the amount of data storage that will be needed well into the future. Keep in mind that additional capacity will be needed for transaction logs as well as the growth in data accumulated by apps and attachments being submitted.
