The Attributes section includes the object name.

Name

Enter a name for the column.

The Behavior section lists possible events on the object that can prompt a behavior to run.

File Attachment Changes Field Data

This event occurs when an app user attaches a file.  

File Attachment is Clicked

This event occurs when an app user clicks on the file attachment object.  

The settings section includes the option to set the column header and  width, file details, button details and mandatory answers.

Enter the text to be displayed in the file attachment column header

Width

Edit the width (in pixels) of the object presented in this column.

File

Max Size

Enter the maximum file size (MB) allowed for this attachment object.

Select which type of file may be attached.

Default means all text and image file types listed below along with file types AVI, EML, HTM, HTML, LOG, MOV, MP2, MPEG, MSG, PPT, PPTX, PSD, PUB, VSD, XML, and the PF (PerfectApps File) extension.

Text Documents are restricted to the following extensions: DOC, DOCX, XLS, XLSX, XLSM, CSV, TXT & PDF.

Image files are restricted to the following extensions: JPG, JPEG, GIF, PNG.

Button Details

Attach

Edit the caption text that is shown before the app user has attached a file.

Detach

Edit the caption text that is shown after the app user has attached a file.

Position button on left

This option will be pre-selected to align the attachment button to the left of the status detail. If this check box is cleared then the attachment button will be positioned to the right of the status detail.

Mandatory

Mandatory Answer

Select the Mandatory Answer check box to make the contents of the object required in order to submit the app instance.

You may enter a custom message in the text input below the check box. This message will be displayed if some part of the object has not been completed prior to app submission.

Click the ellipses button to display the Edit Mandatory dialog. Use this matrix to make the object mandatory based on conditions of roles and stages.

The Style section contains properties that control the font appearance and theme applied to the object.

Select the font face for the status text displayed in the main part of the object.

Fonts from the designers local machine will also be available provided the option to Use Custom Font has been selected in the Account Settings, however if the same font is not installed on the users machine then a standard font will be used to display the data.

Choose the size of the font for the text.

Enter a Hex color code or click on the color box to pick a color for the text.

Choose the style of the font for the text.

Button

Select the font face for the button.

Choose the size of the font for the text.

Enter a Hex color code or click on the color box to pick a color for the text.

Choose the style of the font for the text.

Enter a Hex color code or click on the color box to pick a background color for the object.

The Access section contains properties for field state management.

Additional Information

Choose from Default, Normal, Read-Only, Disabled or Hidden for File Attachment objects.

With field state management, you control access to individual objects on the app. You can prevent individual roles from changing, or even viewing, specific data or areas on the app. See Limiting User Access to App Fields for more information on how to control access to fields.
