Archiving is available to PerfectApps On Premise versions only and must first be enabled in the Administration Console and then turned on at the user level on the Account Settings > Users page before the Archiving Settings section is displayed on the Settings Dashboard. For details on the administration of archiving settings, see the Administering Archiving Settings topic. |
The Archiving Settings section of the Settings Dashboard enables you to archive app instances, restore previously archived instances or permanently delete archived instances. Archival of app instances moves data from the main system database into a secondary database which can exist on a different host. This offers the following benefits:
•Reduces the size of data in the main database and improve its performance.
•Removes old data clutter from Dashboards and improves manageability of remaining data.
•Supports company archiving policies.
Once an instance is archived, it will no longer display in the Edit Apps tree nor will it display in the app instances summaries found in the Apps Dashboard. Data associated with archived instances will not appear in reports. In addition, any notifications associated with archived instances will be canceled. If an archived instance is restored, it will once again display in the Apps Dashboard as well as in reports.
This section will address the following archive-related topics:
•Assigning Archiving Permissions
•Reviewing Previously Archived Instances
•Accessing Archived Instances from the App Instance Summary Area
